Wolle Amazing debut!
Their approach to layering and building monumental walls of sound feels familiar in a sense that it definitely stays true to the core concepts of post metal.
But they achieve much more than just creating music according to a known concept. They crafted their individual style that doesn't pander to the great names of the genre too much and therefore manages to reveal a different and fresh, much more dreamy side of it. Less circlejerking on nasty drones and massive riffs for minutes that just feel cathartic, but a much more delicate dramaturgy that achieves a comparable feeling through building up expectations and releasing tension. In that sense it kind of feels like Post Rock gone Post Metal.
Especially impressing to me is how densely packed this release is. At a little longer than 50 Minutes the music never loses focus or feels repetitive it's constantly keeping the listener on track.

This is definitely one of the more interesting releases I've heard this year. Highly recommended to give this a listen. Favorite track: heart in the bell.

Resonance will wake and wait clear as a bell clear as hell where currents streams apart perspective takes answers place - one covers null - It's a forceful strike and I trip without weight - one covers null - Through this curtain anger hushes It covers the sun And in this pit there are no walls And freedom feeds from my soul - one covers null - Fingers spread They leave me Collision If you are something But if I'm something Can I hope? Do I hope? I cannot hope Washing away! Forlorn! Forgotten Shapes Pierce through my skin! Transforming into unknown Perceptions and forms Tasting the salt of the earth Lustful and cold Can I hope? Do I hope? Disillusioned hope! Fingers spread Adopting my new shape They left me I am (omni)present I dreamt and you stared at me Unable to feel, unable to fear i don't know if you leave or love following roots, i know one covers null
Vague! Bleak! My fingers become numb My senses fade (Every breath burns in my lungs) Towards the origin Blindly I’ll swim Close to the origin Sinking silently The void is calling me Advancing uncertainly Torn by breathing Disturbance in my chest Impulse or Instinct Striving against the flood While nature turns towards death Desire is an anchor faced forward Remain between Guide me home Seek my cradle The sweet carress Unknown Temptation Finding the path A circular maze Yet obliged to escape Note inside Leaves iron taste Spitting my life on the ground Open to change (open to see)
abject 13:02
The coronation of a false illusionist Shaded by my own fears I’m staring at a city of stones As my wishes turn to dust Captivate me, silence my throat! As the crowd raises its voice! Let me out! My liberation From a forlorn truth Those eyes ablaze In fires of lost youth Hills remain silent to the noise of the outer world Like abandonded homes in an arsonist’s dreams Turns the smoke into tears Windows become gates! Voices intertwine I wallow in temptation Do follow? Do I rebel? The call! Resistance! The call! Resistance!
Every second Of the decapitation Fibers fleeing Can I take the first step? Every beginning Regeneration Endless seeming love hate Can I take the first step? Weighed down by chains A goal set straight Taunting fears and gaining vigor Unable to cross, bound to achieve Dragged down by chains A goal once known Anguished fears and long lost vigor Hope seems lost, destined to fail Floating mind, but Solid ground Salt taste fades like Long Held Dreams Eyes meet still, their wills shout Out the cave into the open Barren landscapes, a flooded gorge Devouring bodies, a reptile’s kiss A change of guards, a rising sun As hope is buried, I must pull through Feet in motion and doubts outside of vision some sleep, some call from the corner of my eye Through necks and throats I'm pressing forward Their grips are loosening, their fingers in cold sweat My body, it resonates Towards beginning, towards the end Every second, every beginning Of the decapitation, regenaration Fibers fleeing, endless seeming love hate Can I take the first step? Can I take the first step? Every second, every beginning Of the decapitation, regenaration Fibers fleeing, endless seeming love hate Can I take the first step? Can I take the first step? Shapes drift apart While they collapse. Don't fade, don't rise. Just scraps of my own Body Remain To emerge again. Perception (and) Sensations Resonate, They oscillate Break free Isolate Precept Emerge Oscillate
